Moving Mountains by Climbing One: Climb For The Cure

"Oh, I know," you think to yourself as you're waiting for a bagel to toast. "I'll climb a mountain for charity."
I mean, come on. You're already booked on that flight to Tanzania because you're planning to give Kilimanjaro a go, right? You could dismiss the thought, because you have so much to do between now and then. But you just found out yet another person in your life has been affected by breast cancer, so you get on the horn and start fundraising.
Wait.
This is not how your day started?
Mine neither.
This is the inspirational story of John Crongeyer, an associate of the friend I mentioned yesterday. His lifestyle is clearly anything but typical — Guy's gonna climb a mountain for the Susan G. Komen Foundation (Atlanta Affiliate) in her name.
He, like too many of us, has intimate familiarity with this disease that's touched others close to him. So he's turning his pastime into an opportunity to raise money towards detection, treatment and researching potential cures.
If you would like to support his effort, you can read more details here: Climb For The Cure.

I started my day with a cup of coffee wondering what good I might do in the world today. I'm not going to climb a mountain, but I can try to move them by turning my own pastime into an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for the cure of this disease. Even if this isn't something you're able to support financially, maybe John has inspired you too. It never hurts to ask yourself the question: What good might I do in the world today?

We all have mountains we will have to climb at some point in our lives, for most of us it will not be a a land mass that projects over its surroundings. John has obviously looked outside of himself and seized an opportunity to serve. My prayer is that the compassion and the capacity to help that all of us possess will continue to help others conquer their mountains...We can aide in healing this world mentally, physically and spiritually...Peace~ Love!

I love this story and the picture, but my favorit part of the post is the category of "Do-Goodery". I need more Do-Goodery in my life. Thanks
